Lodi Antique Street Faire

It's time for the Lodi Antique Street Faire....
I am headed off early tomorrow morning to the faire with my dear friend Jacqueline (country nest). The faire is held the first Sunday of May and October and I have been going now for about 4 years. We have such a wonderful time and the streets are loaded with vendors and sellers from all around. We start our journey about 6:30 a.m. with coffee and "wish lists" in hand as we talk the whole car ride there about what great treasures are waiting for us. After arriving in Lodi we like to start on School street which is mainly all antiques and after about 4 hours we take a break to eat lunch and then make our way down Church street where you can find more homemade boutique items. This year we decided to only take one cart , in the past we both would push our carts but the wheels of our carts kept getting tangled up together as one of us would make a mad dash to something that caught our eye. We learned early on, if you like something you had better hurry and get to it, put your hand on it while deciding if you want to buy it or someone will snatch it up from right under you. Having a good eye and being fast is very important and I must say 9 times out of 10 Jacqueline always beats me to it. ( I'm thinking maybe I should slip something in her coffee that would slow her down so I will have half a chance to get that one of a kind item. Ha Ha ) When our feet are just too tired or we are out of money ( usually the later)we head for home but only after visiting this wonderful candy/bakery shop on the corner. They have the best carmel apples around, and our kids Edward and Lindsey love us to bring them home a "goodie". Once home we of course unload and talk about our favorite find of the day. This faire comes twice a year and I am always looking forward to the next one. If you want more info you can go the city of Lodi's website at http://www.lodichamber.com/ . Until the next time...." Happy Antiquing"
Hugs,
Joanee
